"Starting law school in January through the Spring Start Program allowed me to be part of a smaller group of students. I felt like I had an advantage because I had a very close working relationship with my classmates in the 'J-Section.'"

Washburn University School of Law prides itself on its successful, student-centered approach to teaching. We begin by providing students with an environment conducive to learning. We offer classes large enough to include multiple perspectives and contrary ideas, yet small enough to encourage student interaction with professors and classmates. An open-door policy invites students to meet with professors outside of class. A collegial atmosphere embraces diversity and an open exchange of views. Nearly 150 courses, seminars and clinical offerings are available.

Every step of the way, from the first year through graduation, Washburn Law's comprehensive curriculum and innovative programs prepare law students for success in the legal profession.

Two Enrollment Options:
Traditional Fall Start or Spring Start Program

Students may start law school in August, through the traditional fall start, or in January, through the Spring Start Program. Washburn Law enrolls about 150 students in the fall and 25 students for the spring semester.

Fast Track Accelerated Option

Fall or spring starters may participate in the Fast Track Accelerated Option, allowing them to graduate in two calendar years. Students can begin their legal careers in the shortest amount of time allowed by the American Bar Association. The 90 required credits can be completed during two academic years and two full summer sessions. Participation in Fast Track is optional.
