An Affordable Education
Washburn University School of Law receives funding from the State of Kansas, Shawnee County, and the City of Topeka.
Tuition is similar to that at other public law schools and is well below the cost of most private law schools.
Generous contributions from alumni and friends make it possible for Washburn Law to distribute $1.8 million in institutional scholarships annually. About 57 percent of our entering students receive scholarships. More than 30 percent of our entering students receive scholarships for close to the cost of full resident tuition; some receive more. Federal and private loans also help students manage the cost of their education.
Qualify for In-State Tuition
Qualifying residents of several Missouri counties surrounding Kansas City can benefit from special policies that make them eligible for in-state tuition. Other students may apply for resident tuition after they have lived in Kansas for six months. Contact the Admissions Office for details.
