Being placed with other 1Ls helped to alleviate some stresses I had during my first week. While the faculty challenges you intellectually, they make sure that your experience at Washburn Law is extremely rewarding by giving you the appropriate level of academic support. Furthermore, the structure of Washburn Law's first year course curiculum and student study groups makes your first year experience extremely unique by placing you with faculty and students you can relate to on a very personal level. "Washburn is the very school I want. The unique studying group program leads me to an efficient way to deal with the difficult first-year classes. The small size and high-quality legal writing course sharpens my research and writing ability. Washburn encourages competition; but also emphasizes co-operation and friendly learning circumstances. Especially as an international student, I would never have achieved the process without the sincere help from my classmates and the law school professors."

I found superior academics and a stellar professional reputation at Washburn Law. I also found classmates, staff, and professors willing to support and encourage me as a successful student, a loving husband and a caring father. "My experience at Washburn Law has been truly unique and has far exceeded my expectations. The Spring Start Program allowed me to begin law school at the time most convenient to me and put me on track to graduate in less than three years. The Certificate Program has enabled me to concentrate my legal education on the areas of law in which I desire to pursue a career, and the Small Business & Nonprofit Transactional Law Clinic allows me to gain "real world" experience by providing legal assistance to small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Topeka and surrounding areas. These programs, in addition to the caring, friendly and helpful faculty, staff, and students, made Washburn Law the perfect place for me to pursue a legal education."

"The faculty at Washburn University School of Law provide the perfect combination of challenge and support. As a non-traditional student with an hour commute, my time on campus is precious. Upon visiting the law school I immediately knew that the culture here would accommodate my tight time schedule. The professors are very accessible having an open-door policy. Additionally, the student body is supportive and friendly with a less competitive atmosphere than the other schools I visited. In all, I am extremely pleased with my choice of law schools and I feel at home at Washburn. I encourage all potential law students to visit campus and experience the collegial atmosphere that makes me proud to be an Ichabod."

"Washburn has been a great place for me, a husband and parent - and every other student for that matter - to study the law. The excellent faculty are always available to see that every question is answered, and there are so many ways to learn about the actual practice of law through numerous panels and presentations by practicing lawyers, and to gain experience through externships, clinic, and clerkships. Opportunities truly abound at Washburn."
