The scholarship will be awarded to the individual who best demonstrates a commitment to the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and dedication to its mission through extensive involvement in AAJ student chapter activities, as well as expresses a desire to represent victims, and exhibits an interest and proficiency of skills in trial advocacy.
Eligibility: Applicants must be a second or third-year AAJ Law Student Member. Applicants must be enrolled in an ABA approved law school.

Mike Eidson Scholarship

The Mike Eidson Scholarship Fund was established by the AAJ Women for Justice Education Fund in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it. The scholarship is awarded annually to a rising 3L female student who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a plaintiffs' lawyer or criminal defense lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.
Eligibility: 1) Female; 2) 3rd Year Law Student; 3) Winner must attend annual AAJ Annual Convention in Canada to accept scholarship

James B. Pearson Fellowship

Established in 1979, the Pearson Fellowship provides assistance to graduate students with approved study abroad programs.
Eligibility: Applicants must be: a resident of the state of Kansas for a minimum of five years; be accepted to a graduate program at an accredited Kansas college or university; be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a program of study, preferably related to foreign affairs.

Donald O'Brien Scholarship Award

This scholarship is in honor of Judge Donald O'Brien, Senior Judge, United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. The scholarship was set up by the Judge's law clerks in 1993 to honor his commitment to public service. The scholarship is open to any first- or second-year law student with ties to the State of Iowa who expresses an interest and intent to practice law in the area of civil rights, civil liberties, public interest, or other areas benefiting society's less fortunate.

2015 Roxanne Barton Conlin Scholarship

The Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City is pleased to offer its annual $2,000 scholarship award, an AWL membership fee waiver as a student and for the first three years of practice, and a feature article in its quarterly newsletter to one female law student. The award is intended as an educational supplement for a female law student who has distinguished herself through academics, community service and/or involvement in activities promoting women.
Eligibility: One award will be made to one female student (part-time or full-time) who has completed her first full semester of law school and is entering her second or third year of law school in the Fall of 2014.
