Alumni Services
Carolyn Barnes is the Director for Alumni Services. Before joining the law school in January 2008, she worked for the Kansas University Alumni Association as the director of the Kansas Honors Program. She is a 1991 graduate from Washburn's MBA program and a 1980 graduate of the University of Kansas majoring in art history and U.S. history. Pat Dodds joined the Alumni Services Office in March 2005 as Administrative Assistant to the Director. Prior to joining the Washburn community, she worked at the Payless ShoeSource corporate offices for 18 years with her most recent job being in the Law Department from 2000 to 2004. Advancement
Joel Lauer is the Director of Advancment. Prior to joining the law school in 2002, he guided the YWCA of Topeka through a $3.5 million capital campaign that benefitted the Battered Women Task Force and the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. He earned his Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, while helping coach the nationally recognized UNLV debate squad.
