Washburn Law encourages employers to use the services of the Professional Development Office to recruit Washburn Law students in one of two ways, through year-round job postings or participation in the Fall or Spring Recruitment Program.

In accordance with Section 6-3 of the Bylaws of the Association of American Law Schools and Standard 211(d) of the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, Washburn University School of Law shall pursue a policy of providing its students and graduates with equal opportunity to obtain employment, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, handicap or disability, or sexual orientation.

Law Student Employment Policy

Although part-time employment in law-related fields can substantially assist law students both financially and professionally, such employment can also impose time pressures that detract significantly from law studies. Students enrolled in 10 or more hours may not engage in outside employment in excess of 20 hours per week. If a student chooses to be employed more than 20 hours per week, the student must enroll in fewer than 10 hours and lengthen the period of law study.

Law School Grading Policy

The standing of students in each course will be indicated by the letters, A, A- B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D and F. Grade points will be awarded to each student on the following basis for each credit hour of work:

Honors

Degrees with honors are granted to students as follows:
