Photograph: Margann Bennett.Margann Bennett is Director of Professional Development and Pro Bono at Washburn University School of Law where she advises law students and alumni on career options, job search strategies, and making the transition to professional employment. In addition to career planning responsibilities, Margann coordinates CLE programs for Washburn Law. She is active in the Kansas Bar Association and its CLE committee in particular. For this involvement, she was awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the KBA in 2008. Prior to joining Washburn Law, Margann practiced at Hershberger, Patterson, Jones & Roth in Wichita, Kansas, and at Shook Hardy & Bacon in Overland Park, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri. At Shook Hardy, Margann was a litigation associate in both the Labor & Employment and the Pharmaceutical & Medical Device divisions. She also served as a Corporate Account Manager with Thomson-West (Westlaw) before joining Washburn Law in 2003. Margann's degrees are from the University of Kansas: a B.A. in 1991 and a J.D. in 1996. Before joining Washburn Law in 2004 she worked for many years at the Menninger Clinic as an Executive Assistant in Patient Care Services. Cindy also served as a member of the Executive Transition Team and assisted with the relocation of the Clinic to Houston, Texas. She served as Chief of Staff for the Kansas Governor's Residence, Cedar Crest, from 2003-2010. Previously, Judyanne was the Director of Career Services, CLE, and Alumni Relations at Washburn Law and served as the first Executive Director of the Topeka Bar Association.
