Visiting Scholars

Advocacy Scholar in Residence

The Washburn Advocacy Scholar in Residence program brings nationally known trial advocacy scholars to Washburn Law and the University community. During their time in residence at Washburn Law, advocacy scholars give public lectures, conduct faculty workshops, teach advocacy classes and meet with members of the Center for Excellence in Advocacy’s student-run Washburn Advocacy Society.

Advocate in Residence

The Advocate in Residence program allows students to meet highly skilled trial and appellate lawyers who can guide and mentor them along the pathways to a successful career in advocacy. The Advocate in Residence meets with students and faculty in the classroom, the school courtroom and around the campus during a weeklong visit that includes demonstrating advocacy skills, discussing the theory and practice of advocacy and lecturing on important current advocacy topics.
