CASA Training
There is always a great need in Shawnee County for individuals to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates. As of May 2008 the list of children waiting for an advocate is 80 and growing.
Involvement in the CASA program provides an opportunity for volunteers to have a significant impact on the quality of a child's life, enhance written and oral communication skills, strengthen collaboration skills, gain an understanding of the child welfare system, and increase awareness of child abuse and neglect. By serving as a CASA you can change a child's life!
Training classes are held several times per year.
