Carlton D. Stansbury, shareholder in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin firm of Burbach & Stansbury SC, will visit Washburn University School of Law from September 21-23, 2009 as a Children and Family Law Center Practitioner in Residence.
Mr. Stansbury has published and presented on a wide range of family law topics. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Iowa. Mr. Stansbury was the law clerk for The Honorable Daniel P. Anderson of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District II. He has received specialized training in mediation and collaborative practice, including collaborative divorce and interdisciplinary practice.
Mr. Stansbury has been listed in editions of Best Lawyers in America and as one of Milwaukee's "Best Laywers" in Milwaukee Magazine, and he has been named as one of Wisconsin's Super Lawyers. He has served as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and in various capacities with the Family Law Sections of both the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association. He is currently American Bar Association Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission Drafting Committee on the Uniform Collaborative Law Act.
