Presentation to Prospective Students
Efrain Soto, '04, visited Washburn University School of Law on Thursday, November 12, 2009 and Friday, November 13, 2009, as a Fall 2009 Business and Transactional Law Center Practitioner in Residence.
Efrain E. Soto is a Senior Tax Advisor at SFX Baseball, a sports agency firm. Since 2006, Mr. Soto has worked closely with minor and major league baseball players with their tax and financial planning matters. He received his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 2004 and his B.A. degree in finance and accounting from Interamerican University, Puerto Rico, in 1990.
After graduating from Washburn Law, Soto gained valuable experience working as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Chicago Public School expulsion and truancy proceedings and also worked as Assistant Chief Deputy Clerk for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County in Illinois.
Before law school Soto worked with the accounting and finance departments of the Chicago Public Schools and also worked closely with the Internal Revenue Service with the management of a statewide tax counseling agency for eight years in Illinois.
He lives in Chicago with his wife, Louisa.
