The Real Estate Law Society (RELS) is a student-run organization. RELS provides opportunities to learn about real estate law and other aspects of the real estate industry primarily by sponsoring visits to Washburn Law by professionals from the industry.

Members of RELS elect officers annually.

Photograph: Asel Mukeyeva.Asel Mukeyeva is a second year law student and is the president of the Real Estate Law Society. Asel has a BS in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University and a BA in Accounting from Washburn. Prior to law school, Asel worked in real estate development and finance where she managed real estate LLCs, partnerships, subchapter S corporations and a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. Asel's community service is comprised of various memberships including her role as Treasurer of YWCA USA National Board of Directors. Asel can be reached at asel.mukeyeva [at] washburn.edu.

Photograph: Alex Bezu.Alex Bezu is a second year law student from the former Soviet Union and serves as the RELS vice president. Alex settled in the United States in 2008. Prior to that, he was managing small businesses in a transitional economy in Russia. Alex speaks four languages and has significant international experience. His future plan is to focus on restorative justice and practice law in a holistic and restorative way. Contact Alex at alex.bezu [at] washburn.edu.

Photograph: Nikolas Stoffel.Nikolas Stoffel is a second year law student from Denver, Colorado and is the Treasurer for the Real Estate Law Society. Nik received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Denver with a major in Finance. Prior to law school, Nik worked for a real estate investment firm in Colorado and was responsible for creating and implementing a process for the acquisition of Bank and Lender-Owned single-family residences. Photograph: Michael Quinn.Michael Quinn is the Director of Public Relations for the Real Estate Law Society. Michael lives in Overland Park, Kansas, and he is a second year law student at Washburn University with a focus on property law. He has a master's degree (MBA) in business finance from the University of Kansas and a bachelor's degree in computer systems engineering from the University of Arkansas. Michael spent the last five years providing consulting services to numerous fortune 500 companies. Michael can be reached at michael.quinn [at] washburn.edu.

Photograph: Vincent Granado.Vincent Granado is a third year law student from Orange County, California serving as the Director of Special Events. Vincent received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Riverside in Sociology and Philosophy. Vincent also received his graduate degree from University of California, Irvine in Criminology, Law, and Society. He has worked for the Orange County Counsel's Office during the summer of 2010. Photograph: Richard Davis.Rick Davis is a second year law student from Phoenix, Arizona and is serving as the Director of Information Technology for the Real Estate Law Society. Rick received his Bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Kansas and an Associate degree in Political Science from Colby Community College. Prior to law school, Rick spent over 10 years in the restaurant industry gaining experience in all facets of restaurant management. Additionally, he has been involved in the purchase and sale of several restaurants and came close to purchasing a few of his own. Rick can be reached at richard.davis [at] washburn.edu.
