Civil Litigation Clinic
Faculty Member
Student interns in the Civil Litigation Clinic experience the practical responsibility of advocacy for their clients.
These interns soon understand the connection between specific legal problems and public policy concerns, and learn how general civil cases are often affected by family law and criminal law issues.
Civil Litigation Clinic interns interview clients, pursue fact investigation, prepare and respond to pleadings, conduct depositions and represent clients in court. They counsel and advise clients, work with opposing attorneys and governmental agencies, and draft legal documents.
The Civil Litigation Clinic allows interns to explore a wide range of civil matters and problems. These include:
- consumer issues
- landlord/tenant and lease issues
- contract issues
- tort defense
- elder law issues
