Law Clinic
"I enjoy watching the skills and confidence of legal interns grow as the responsibility of representing clients is first assumed. The Washburn Law Clinic helps students start their legal careers and introduces students to the ethical issues faced on a day-in-day-out basis."

Professor Petty is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Kansas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. She worked at Kansas Legal Services for five years, as a Staff Attorney in the Topeka office and as a Managing Attorney in the Kansas City office. Her legal interests include child in need of care, family law, disability, guardianship, and immigration. In addition to supervising clinic students, Professor Petty oversees ADA compliance for the law school.
