Senator Robert J. Dole Speaks on Disabilities and the Law

Dole, '52, spoke in Robinson Courtroom at Washburn Law School on Monday, April 12, 1999 as part of a panel discussion on "Disabilities and the Law." Professors Lynette Petty and Jalen O'Neil provided an overview of current developments in disability law, including highlights of the recent "National Disability Policy Progress Report" issued by the National Council on Disability. Senator Dole then traced the history and purpose of the Americans with Disabilities Act and his role in its enactment. He also discussed future policy directions, including legislative initiatives, in disability law.
