Both work for AmerUs Annuity Group in Topeka. Miller is Executive Vice President and General Counsel and Conroy is Vice President and Assistant Counsel.

Miller, who attended an MBA program at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, told students that the best programs require years of work experience for admission. He said most programs encourage learning in a team environment.

Conroy earned his MBA through an evening program at the University of Kansas' Edwards Campus in Overland Park, Kansas. He observed that it is important to find a program to fit your lifestyle. Conroy attended classes in the evenings, after work, but would not recommend such a program for those with families. Conroy also said that his program involved less group work because many of the students were working full time and commuting to class.
