The exhibit consists of 15 panels, a 5-minute video, and a display of books by and about Dole. The exhibit starts near the entrance of the law library, where one should pick up an exhibit guide. There is an introductory panel, timeline, and video. There are 3 panels near the second floor stairway and the remaining 8 panels are downstairs on the first floor.

The exhibit, "You'll Never Walk Alone: The Public and Private Life of Bob Dole," will be at the law library from Monday, October 13-Monday, November 17, 2008. On loan from the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics, the exhibit was created by Jamin Leigh Dreasher of Topeka (now a master's degree student in museum studies at the University of Kansas).

Robert Dole's private life became public news as he served in Italy in World War II, campaigned for Congress, and ran for the Presidency of the United States. The exhibit explores the tension and connection between those private and public aspects of his life, drawing on original papers, artifacts, and photographs in his archive. Bob Dole attended Washburn University and the School of Law from 1949 until he graduated in 1952. While at Washburn, Law Librarian Beth Bowers was the first to suggest that Dole run for office.
