Topeka and Kansas Bar Association Young Lawyers Visit Washburn Law
Representatives from the Kansas and Topeka Bar Associations visited with Washburn University School of Law students on March 25, 2009 to discuss the benefits of bar membership.
Scott Hill, '03, president of the KBA Young Lawyers Section (YLS), discussed the leadership, continuing education, and networking opportunities available to bar members. Scott Grosskreutz, '05, president of the Topeka Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, highlighted the differences between local, state and national bar membership.
Vincent Cox, '05, who is co-social chair of the KBA YLS and chair of the TBA YLS, has certainly taken advantage opportunities to get involved at both the local and state level. Finally, Doug Shima, '94, president of the Topeka Bar Association, encouraged students to get involved while they are in law school and reminded them that student membership is free in both the TBA and ABA.
After the discussion at the law school, students joined the four panelists and other members of the TBA YLS for a social hour at Henry T's. The event was co-sponsored by the Professional Development Office, the KBA and the TBA.
