Extracurricular Activities

Students build and sharpen practical skills through extracurricular activities focused on estate planning and tax issues. Through immersion in the Tax and Estate Planning Association, students have access to programming that enhances their knowledge and offers opportunities to meet with expert practitioners and leaders in the field. For example, TEPA:

  • Invites speakers to campus and organizes events off campus with tax and estate planning practitioners;
  • Organizes employment workshops to help members better prepare for and manage employment-search efforts;
  • Hosts the annual graduate tax program information seminar; and
  • Coordinates Tax Days with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in the community. VITA offers free tax help for low- to moderate-income people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Through VITA, students assist individuals and families with preparing and filing their tax returns.
