Admission Requirements

"The study abroad program is an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. It was well worth the investment. Not only do you get an opportunity to get closer to some of your fellow students and faculty, but you also get to experience places that you might not otherwise get to see. If you are thinking about it, you should go."

Any U.S. or Canadian law student in good standing at a law school who will have completed one year of academic work prior to May 29, 2012 is eligible for the program.
- Washburn Law students are considered to be in good standing when their cumulative grade point average is 2.0 or above.
- Non-Washburn students must furnish a letter from the Dean or Registrar certifying their current good standing.
By submitting a registration application, students are certifying that they will meet the admission requirements. Students must advise the Director of International Legal Programs of any change in academic status.
Applications must be received no later than April 16, 2012. Enrollment is limited to 50 U.S. or Canadian law students; however, one-half of these enrollments will be reserved for Washburn Law students until March 1, 2012. Enrollment will be granted in order of application receipt. Once 50 applications have been received, all subsequent applicants will have the opportunity to be put on a wait list.
In 2011 there were 17 students enrolled in the program, 13 U.S. law students and four students from The University of the West Indies. Up to four academic scholarships will be awarded to University of the West Indies law students to attend the program.
