How To Install Wireless Printers & Setup Double-Sided Printing on Snow Leopard

* All print jobs must be released from a Print Release Station next to the printer. You can identify your print job based on the description, time and by your computer name.
- Click the
icon in the upper left corner of your screen; then select System Preferences.
Click on Print & Fax.
Click the
button to add a new printer.
Select Advanced icon. (If you do not see this option, right-click above the other icons and select "Customize Toolbar..." To right-click hold down the "ctrl" key while clicking. The drag the Advanced icon onto the toolbar.
- For the Type select 'Windows' from the drop down.
- Wireless 2 is located on the 2nd floor and Wireless 3 & 4 are on the 3rd and 4th floor repectively.
- For the Wireless Printers type:
- smb://lawprint.washburnlaw.edu/Lab1
- smb://lawprint.washburnlaw.edu/Lab2
- smb://lawprint.washburnlaw.edu/Wireless2
- smb://lawprint.washburnlaw.edu/Wireless3
- smb://lawprint.washburnlaw.edu/Wireless4
- Name the Printer
- Select the appropriate driver of the printer. DO NOT use "Generic PostScript Printer" or Double-Sided printing might not work.
Type "HP LaserJet 9050" for Wireless 2. Then click OK and Add.
Type "HP LaserJet 4350" for all of the other printers. Then click OK and Add.
Check the Duplex checkbox.
You will see the printer was added successfully.
We have to configure the printer for Double-Sided printing. Select Layout under Presets.
Select "Long-Edge binding" from the options under Two-Sided.
Then under Presets select Save As from the drop down and give it the name ' Double-Sided Printing.'
Apply the setting to all law school printers and click ok.
The first time you print you may be prompted to login. Use your own login credentials and tell it to remember.
