Message from Dean Pratt, September 22, 2019

Now that we are well into the fall semester, our Admissions staff are on the road recruiting students who will enroll in January or August 2020. The competition for students is fierce in legal education so I will spend more of my time supporting our Admissions team this year. Last year we were among the 85 law schools that experienced an increase in applications to the J.D. program despite the fact that regionally there was a small decrease in the number of law school applicants from the Midwest (see Fall 2019 entering class profile).

This year we hope to continue the upward trajectory and again increase the number of applications to Washburn Law. You can help us in this effort by sharing your Washburn Law experience with young people who are interested in law school and encouraging them to complete our FREE application. Prospective students who are interested in learning more about Washburn Law can complete our online Information Request form.

I hope you will join us at the annual Alumni Reunion, October 4-5, 2019 and help us celebrate the recipients of the 2019 Washburn Law Alumni Association Awards. Regardless of when you graduated, you are welcome to join us for alumni weekend, and I hope to see you there!

We continue to work to develop our International Law curriculum by seeking high profile externship placements abroad for students who will be in our Third Year Anywhere™ enrollment option. If you know someone practicing law abroad who would be willing to supervise one of our students in an externship placement, please ask that person to complete our Statement of Interest form.

Thank you for all that you do to support Washburn Law!

Very truly yours,
