The Honorable Randall E. McGrath, '75, Lawrence, Kan., is a retired municipal court judge. He recently published the book Lessons Learned, Recollections and Reflections on Criminal Defense.

Charles R. Rayl, '75, Strong City, Kan., received the Honorable Order of St. Michael Silver Award from the Army Aviation Association of America.

Keith R. Fevurly, '76, Centennial, Colo., is an attorney, financial planner, and senior lecturer of finance at Metropolitan State University, Denver. He also is an adjunct associate professor at Webster University and had a book, Plan Your Financial Future, published.

Mary Chris Hutton, '78, Vermillion, S.D., received the John Wesley Jackson Memorial Award for outstanding professor of law at the University of South Dakota School of Law. Hutton has worked as a professor at the school since 1984 and previously received the award in 1986 and 1999.

Steven R. Smith, '78, Shawnee, Kan., received a Kansas Bar Association Outstanding Service Award at the annual KBA Awards Dinner held in June.

Calvin K. Williams, '78, Colby, Kan., received an outstanding service award from the Kansas Bar Association. He is a sole practitioner in Colby, commissioner for the Kansas Lawyers Assistance program, and resident of the KBA solo and small firm section. While at Washburn Law, he was an intern in the law clinic.

The Honorable Nancy Moritz, '85, Topeka, was nominated by President Barack Obama to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. She has served as a Kansas Supreme Court Justice since 2011.

Jerry H. Schemmel, '85, Littleton, Colo., served as the interim baseball coach at Colorado Christian University during the summer. He is the Colorado Rockies radio announcer and the voice of Colorado State University football. Schemmel was a member of Phi Delta Theta and played baseball at Washburn.

The Honorable Evelyn Z. Wilson, '85, Topeka, was appointed by the Kansas Supreme Court to a two-year term as chief judge of the Third Judicial District.

Terry L. Mann, '86, Wichita, was appointed Chair of the Kansas Board of Law Examiners in July. She has been a member of the Board since 1995, and Vice-Chair since 2006.
