Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Jeff King also asked former U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Deanell Tacha and Kansas solicitor general and KU Law Professor Stephen McAllister.

Professor Robinson, director of the Center for Law and Government at Washburn Law, is a former Kansas Regents President and former law clerk for Judge Tacha.

"There are not three brighter, more qualified legal minds in Kansas than Judge Tacha, Professor McAllister, and Professor Robinson," said King. "I'm honored that they have accepted the important task of crafting a questionnaire for Kansas Court of Appeals nominees. Their expertise will ensure that the Kansas Senate has the information it needs to conduct thorough confirmation hearings."

This is the first time that a Senate committee has had the duty to confirm or reject an Appeals Court nominee, and King said he wants the law trio to produce a written questionnaire for the nominee. Committee members, Senate President Susan Wagle and Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley also are being asked to put together questions to be added to the questionnaire.
