Uniform Bar Exam (UBE)

  • Effective February 2016, Kansas administers the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). See the National Conference of Bar Examiners website for more information about the UBE.
  • Beginning April 2, 2015, individuals who took the UBE in another jurisdiction may apply to transfer a minimum score of 266 to Kansas.
    • Applicants transferring a UBE administered in another state must complete an Application for Admission to the Bar by Uniform Bar Examination Score. The court estimates it will take approximately 90 days to process the transfer application, assuming there are no character and fitness issues. The character and fitness requirement mirrors that of the current Application for Admission by Written Examination. There is a fee for the UBE application.
