Joseph Logan Hoover, '24, Selected Honorable Mention Winner

Joseph Logan Hoover photo outside Washburn Law School buildingWashburn Law student, Joseph Logan Hoover '24, was selected as the Honorable Mention winner of the Hofstra Law School Family Court Review (FCR) and Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) 14th annual Family Law Writing Competition.

Logan's submission, "The Best Interest of the Child Standard in Immigration Proceedings: How to Reconcile Cultural Bias and the Termination of Parental Rights in Detention and Deportation Settings," was described as having "superior quality" and demonstrated "a depth of research and legal analysis, originality, and creativity."

Logan stated, "I am honored to have been selected and I want to thank Professor Elrod and Dean Jackson for their support, encouragement, and guidance. I am grateful to be a part of such a supportive community and I am happy to have the opportunity to represent Washburn Law!"
