February 1, 2021.

In an effort to increase safety and security the School of Law has implemented the following procedures:

Overview

  • Law school students, faculty, and staff can access the law school building at any time using their iCard at the north door (second floor) or at the east south patio door (first floor) (i.e., automatic doors).
    • Only individuals who use their iCard to gain access should be in the building after hours.
    • iCard access is gained by swiping the card and entering the last four digits of your social security number (international students should enter the month and day of their birth (mmdd)).
    • Do NOT ask a custodian to let you in.
    • Do NOT contact the Facilities or Police Department to let you in.
    • No iCard = no access.
    • Do not prop open doors.
  • Public access to the law library is limited. Reference librarians remain available for remote research consultation and for assistance with federal government publications. Please contact libraryref@washburnlaw.edu or (785) 670-1689 (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.).

Contact Barbara Ginzburg at barbara.ginzburg@washburn.edu or (785) 670-1087 to arrange for a modified schedule to the doors that unlock/lock automatically.
