Anthony Powell and Kim Schroeder Appointed to Kansas Court of Appeals

Judge Anthony Powell, '91, and Judge Kim Schroeder, '82, were appointed to Kansas Court of Appeals by Governor Sam Brownback on Friday, January 11, 2013.

Powell, of Wichita, currently serves as a Judge for the Sedgwick County District Court and was first elected in 2002. "Judge Powell has been a state representative, lawyer, and congressional aide, and an active member of his community," Brownback said in a news release. "He is an accomplished attorney, and I’m confident that he will serve with honor and distinction."

Schroeder, of Hugoton, began his practice in rural southwest Kansas and has served as a district court judge for the 26th Judicial District since 1999. Brownback said Schroeder "exemplifies the values of small-town and rural Kansas. I am confident he will serve our state with integrity and honor."
