Faculty/Staff Profile

At Washburn, Professor Stewart currently teaches Law in Context, Multistate Legal Analysis for the Legacy UBE, and Probate Procedure and Drafting, and Law in Context.  Additionally, Professor Stewart guides new law students during Orientation and helps with the adjustment to law school through our new student workshops.  After our students graduate, Professor Stewart supports them throughout the period of bar exam preparation through weekly workshops and one-on-one meetings.

Professor Stewart grew up in Kansas City, Missouri.  Professor Stewart earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Truman State University (Kirksville, MO) in May of 2020.  After that, Professor Stewart earned his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law (Topeka, KS) in May of 2023, with certificates in Advocacy and International and Comparative Law. 

After law school, Professor Stewart practiced law as an ‘Of Counsel’ attorney at Clutter, Aadalen, and Dillner, LLP in Topeka, Kansas.  His practice areas included probate, estate planning, trusts, guardianships and conservatorships, real estate, and small business matters. 

Professor Stewart is admitted to practice law in the State of Kansas and the State of Missouri.

Professor Stewart is on the board of the Samuel A. Crow American Inn of Court as a co-administrator that facilitates the admission of Pupil members who are current Washburn University School of Law Students.  Professor Stewart is actively involved with the Association of Academic Support Educators and serves as a co-chair the Membership Engagement Committee in this organization.  Professor Stewart is also a proud Eagle Scout.

In his personal life, Professor Stewart enjoys spending time with his wife, Chantel, who is a Washburn Law Alumna, and their dog, Ozzy.
