Message from Dean Jackson

Hello, Washburn Law Alumni and Community,

As the semester winds down and we enter the holiday season, I want to pause for a moment and express my sincere gratitude for you, our alumni and friends of Washburn Law. It has been a remarkable year with the historic opening of the new Robert J. Dole Hall, increased 1L enrollment, and Bar pass rates that exceeded expectations. Here at the law school, we have much to be grateful for. It is thanks in part to our generous donors like you that we have been able to achieve these milestones.

Reflecting on my second year as interim dean of our beloved alma mater, I am proud of the progress that has been made since I took this position. If you recall, last year we made the announcement that each student would be receiving BARBRI test prep as part of their tuition moving forward. This was a decision made from necessity as our Bar pass rates had dropped as we came out of the pandemic. I am happy to report that for the second time since this implementation, the pass rates for our recent graduates were among the highest in our recent history. The final overall pass rate for our July graduates was 89%.

The students here at Washburn Law continue to thrive as they wrap up their first semester in the new building. The modern design has been more beneficial to their education than even we could have imagined. Having the honor to be a part of its opening will remain a highlight in my academic career. With the modern facility, our Bar pass rates, and the new Assistant Dean of Admissions joining us earlier this year, I am confident that generations of new attorneys will continue to join our ranks as Washburn Law alumni for decades to come. I am excited to be a part of the future of our beloved law school and will continue to keep you up to date on all that’s happening here. After all, this is your law school.

Wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!

Sincerely,

Jeff
